The curtain has been raised on the first fully assembled Boeing 787 Dreamliner jet to an audience of thousands in the company’s plant in the US.

British defence group Smiths today said it had won another lucrative deal to supply technology for Boeing’s new Dreamliner jet.

Aero engine giant Rolls-Royce today secured a deal with American planemaker Boeing that could be worth billions of pounds.

US aircraft maker Boeing Co said it has selected Messier-Dowty, the Gloucester-based business owned by France's state-owned Ste Nationale d'Etude et de Construction de Moteurs d'Aviation, to provide the main and nose landing gear for the planned 7E7 fuel-efficient passenger plane, also known as "Dreamliner".
