Homeowners in a west Dublin apartment complex expressed frustration yesterday that, nearly two years after major fire safety defects were discovered, they have not been told how much they will have to pay to make their homes safe.

Homeowners in a complex where fire safety deficiencies have been discovered will have to pay up to €50,000 per home for remedial work, the Irish Examiner has learned.

A fire broke out in an apartment complex and two people lost their lives. The building may not have been constructed properly but this wasn’t explored. Special Correspondent Michael Clifford sheds some light on the subject.
