FIFA ethics investigator Michael Garcia has lost his appeal against the findings which cleared Qatar and Russia to host the 2022 and 2018 World Cups.

FIFA’s two ethics chiefs will hold talks in the next few days after the investigation into World Cup bidding descended into a shambles.

A member of FIFA’s executive committee has been provisionally banned for 90 days in order to “prevent interference” with a disciplinary case after being charged with breaches of ethics.
