AFTER an agonising wait of 26 years, the families of five unidentified victims of the 1981 Stardust disaster have at long last laid them to rest, bringing closure of a kind to one of the most harrowing tragedies ever to occur in Ireland.

One of the leading barristers in the State is to re-examine files on the Stardust tragedy, the Government announced this morning.

The bodies of five victims of the 1981 Stardust disaster are due to be exhumed at a graveyard in north Dublin today.
