A Judge has listened to the pleas of a tragic family who asked him not to jail the man whose driving led to the death of their son in a car crash in Co. Donegal.

A man who bit a garda in the groin has been fined €1,000.

Families members of two of the five young people who died in one of the worst car accidents in the history of the State have today settled their High Court action for more than €400,000.

Five young people who died in a two-car collision in Co Donegal early today were tonight named by gardaí.
