A small, close-knit community was plunged into grief yesterday evening after news filtered out that Niamh McCarthy had died at Kerry General Hospital in Tralee.

GENERATIONS of education in a mid-Cork school have been celebrated as pupils and staff enjoy teaching and learning in an extension to the original building.
