Objectors to the proposed €180m Cork-Ringaskiddy motorway say it would split communities, cause increased physical and mental health problems, reduce life expectancy, and significantly devalue their properties.

A man adopted a “high handed approach” in dealing with his neighbour in a dispute over a boundary in a seaside village, the president of the High Court has said.

Arts Theatre runs its annual Writers’ Week from February 19-22. The competition, which sees six shortlisted plays premiere, was established in 1986. This year saw the biggest entry, with 38 writers entering their work for the competition.

SIX one-act plays will be performed and judged over four nights, from tonight, in two different categories at Writers’ Week at the Cork Arts Theatre.
