All 13 members of a pod of long-finned pilot whales which live-stranded on a beach in Co Donegal yesterday morning have died despite the best efforts of locals to save them.

Locals in Donegal launched a rescue operation this morning after a pod of 13 pilot whales was stranded on a beach in the north of the county.
