Retail furnishing giant Ikea is counting the cost of sacking a bistro worker at its Dublin store for consuming a €1.25 milkshake without paying for it.

Swedish retailer Ikea is planning to expand its presence in Ireland after achieving record revenues and profits at its Dublin store last year.

Our love of all things Ikea blossomed even more last year as customers on 2.4m shopping trips to the Swedish retailer’s Ballymun store led to a spend of over €2m every week.
