IT was pleasing to hear Environment Minister John Gormley voice his concerns about chewing gum and cigarette butts on our streets and his determination to clean up the mess.

I FULLY support the excellent comments on the violation of the Tara landscape from Gary Dunne, a member of the Irish diaspora domiciled in Canada (Irish Examiner letters, April 19).
