A homeless man has been sentenced to six years in jail after pleading gulity to the manslaughter of his partner who he pushed into the River Lee in Cork.

THE homeless woman whose body was taken from the River Lee in Cork yesterday morning was described by her street friends as a “Mother Teresa figure”.

GARDAÍ were last night continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the drowning of a 54-year-old mother of four in Cork’s River Lee.
