AN UPSTATE New Yorker from Kerry has launched her campaign to become the first Irish-born Congresswoman in the US House of Representatives.

A 106-year-old widow and her 30-year-old caretaker died together in an apparent suicide pact at the home they shared, police in San Francisco said.
