THE 14-year-old girl deprived of a liver transplant due to failures in the Irish system has said she is not angry but “just annoyed” that she missed out on the life-changing transplant.

THE family of teenager Maedhbh McGivern, who lost out on a liver transplant after a bungled attempt to fly her to a London hospital, has welcomed a state inquiry into the incident but said they do not want a witch hunt.

Fianna Fáil Defence Spokesperson Dara Calleary TD has called for a full investigation into the failures which led to 14-year-old Maedhbh McGivern missing a liver transplant at the weekend.
