A man-of-the-match display by Eoghan Murphy helped Erin’s Own to a comfortable eight-point victory over fellow East Cork side Killeagh in a lacklustre county SHC fourth round tie at Midleton on Saturday night.

ST FINBARR’S produced a strong finish to get the better of Erin’s Own in the opening round of the Cork County SHC at Páirc Uí Chaoimh last night.

A DRAMATIC late, late goal for Erin’s Own, Kieran ‘Hero’ Murphy – living up to his nickname with a superb ‘double’ on a long Killian Murphy centre – one minute into injury-time, was enough to deny reigning champions Newtownshandrum victory in this Cork SHC quarter-final in Páirc Uí Chaoimh on Saturday.

Three players have been chosen to make their Championship debuts for Roscommon in Sunday afternoon's Connacht SFC quarter-final against London at Ruislip (throw-in 3pm).

IT may be premature to forecast a return to the glory days for St Finbarr’s but at Páirc Uí Chaoimh last night they hinted of better things to come when claiming the scalp of 2006 and 2007 title-holders Erin’s Own in the quarter-final of the Cork SHC.
