IRELAND U20’s hammered a Leinster Development side 40-15 in the annual challenge at Donnybrook yesterday.

CONOR GILSENAN’S Clongowes Wood College will be molten hot favourites to complete back-to-back Powerade Leinster Schools Senior titles for the first time in their history at the RDS on St Patrick’s Day.

IF THIS was a learning process for the Irish players, their coach Colin McEntee will have learned more than most of them in what was a high-skilled, highly entertaining uncapped Age Grade international at Anglesea Road yesterday.

IT was as the bookmakers predicted; a seventh Leinster Schools’ Senior Cup title for Clongowes Wood College whose 14 points salvo in the opening minutes of yesterday’s decider at the RDS proved decisive.

ALMOST from day one of this season’s Leinster Schools Senior Cup campaign, Clongowes Wood and St. Michael’s were lined up as two of the big favourites to make this afternoon’s St. Patrick’s Day decider at the RDS (3.30).
