My blood ran cold as I read in a letter in an Irish paper a derisive reference to a “17-week-old foetus”.

MOTHERS Alliance Ireland believes Lynda Finneran is right when she claims (Letters, October 30) that “the power and duty of the state to act to protect children in such situations (as in the Roscommon case) is recognised by the constitution”.

I AM very concerned that the Irish media generally appears to be misleading people in relation to the so-called children’s rights constitutional referendum which groups of a certain ideology have been seeking.
