Greece's parliament has today approved a new international bailout deal, which will see the crisis-hit country receive an additional €172bn in rescue loans.

Greek Prime Minister Lucas Papademos and his coalition partners have struck a deal on new cuts demanded by creditors to secure a vital €130bn bailout.

Greece's new coalition government promised rescue creditors it will impose additional "deep and broad reforms", as unions launched a general strike against the economic austerity.
