Detailed plans for the new US embassy being built in Baghdad have appeared online in a major breach of the tight security surrounding the sensitive project that will be America’s largest diplomatic mission abroad.

A helicopter carrying workers from the US construction company Louis Berger crashed in southern Afghanistan today after coming under small arms fire, killing at least one person and seriously injuring another, a US embassy official said.
