THE financial director of one of the country’s most exclusive private schools has been charged with stealing thousands of euro in funds from the elitist facility.

AN Áras an Uachtaráin civil servant has claimed “bogus” disciplinary proceedings were instituted after some colleagues resented her being embraced by President Mary McAleese.

President Mary McAleese tonight distanced herself from a scandal involving a trusted aide who alleged she faced years of bogus disciplinary proceedings from senior officials at Aras an Uachtarain.
