Revenues at the Irish division of British soft drinks producer Britvic fell in the first half of its financial year.

Ireland was the standout performer for British soft drinks producer Britvic in its latest financial year.

Maker of 7UP and Robinsons squash, Britvic, saw profits rise more than 6% in the opening four months of the year despite tough trading conditions. Earnings climbed to £64.7m (€90.68m) on the back of continued disciplined cost management.

British soft drinks group, Britvic has seen a further revenue decline in Ireland as well as an erosion of its market share here.

The UK arm of Smirnoff producer Diageo today said it had settled a two-year dispute with a rival firm over the name of a "confusing" vodka-based drink.
