David Beckham enjoyed a dream first start for the Los Angeles Galaxy with a trademark free-kick goal and an assist to send his new team on the way to the inaugural SuperLiga final with a victory over DC United at the Home Depot Center on Wednesday.

David Beckham watched from the bench as the Los Angeles Galaxy suffered a 2-1 defeat by Chivas Guadalajara in their SuperLiga group match at the Los Angeles Coliseum on Saturday.

David Beckham came off the bench for the final 13 minutes but his Los Angeles Galaxy debut was a losing one as Chelsea’s pre-season campaign continued with a 1-0 win at the Home Depot Center in Carson, California.
