Manchester United supporters have reacted angrily to the news that former chief executive Martin Edwards is to take over as president of the Old Trafford club.

OUTGOING chairman Martin Edwards is to become only the third president in Manchester United’s 125-year history.

Irish businessman John Courtenay has bought Carlisle United fooball club and has re-instated former manager Roddy Collins.

Carlisle have been cleared by the Football Association after an investigation into alleged financial irregularities lasting more than two years.
