A precautionary lockdown of the US Capitol has been lifted after shots were fired in an apparent suicide.

An aircraft today violated the restricted airspace around central Washington, prompting US security officials to temporarily raise the terror threat level from yellow to orange.

ANTI-WAR activist Cindy Sheehan was arrested and removed from the gallery on Tuesday night just before US President George W Bush’s State of the Union address, a police spokeswoman said.
