A MAN has been found guilty of the manslaughter of another man who died nine days after being struck with a hurley during a late-night incident in a city park.

A POSTMORTEM examination on a man who died in hospital after being hit with a hurley revealed he had drugs in his system at the time, a court heard yesterday.

A MAN accused of inflicting a fatal head injury with a hurley told gardaí he did so because he was afraid the victim was going to plunge a knife down his throat, a court heard yesterday.
