Britain’s prime minister has appealed for a calm response to the inquest verdict that a man was lawfully killed by a police marksman despite being unarmed.

A jury retired to consider its verdict today in the retrial of a man accused of giving a gun to Mark Duggan, whose shooting led to the Tottenham riots in the UK.

Mark Duggan, whose shooting by police sparked last summer’s riots, was trying to set up a drugs deal in the weeks before he was killed, a court heard today.
