Sinn Féin's national executive is expected to consider tomorrow an application from an ex-Fianna Fáil TD to join the party.

The Fianna Fáil senator who abstained on a vote to move to expel Bertie Ahern from the party has said she will not vote on the actual motion next week and that people are jumping on the bandwagon over the findings of the Mahon Report.

Fianna Fáil leader Micheál Martin is to move next week to expel former taoiseach Bertie Ahern from the party following the damning Mahon Tribunal report.
