RTÉ broadcaster Olivia O’Leary will be at the Amergin Solstice Poetry Gathering in Waterville, Co Kerry, over the next few days. Originally from Borris, Co Carlow, Olivia also presents The Poetry Programme on RTÉ Radio 1 and does a radio column every Tuesday for the Drivetime programme.

One of the few multi-million euro restoration projects to have gone ahead during the economic downturn has been unveiled to the public with the limited reopening of Killarney House and Gardens, yesterday.

The new owners of one of Killarney’s oldest hotels plan to invest €500,000 in the five-star property over the next year-and-a-half.

An all-star, eclectic line-up is expected to draw 20,000 revellers to the Killarney Festival of Music and Food, on June 27-28.
