The owners of the historic Lissadell Estate have won an appeal against a finding that rights of way exist on the property.

THE omens appear good for a sale of this Bishopstown, Cork semi-d, called Josslyn – its selling agent sold the house next door late in 2009, for around €430,000, and also nailed one of the year’s very few €1m-plus deals for a larger home, on an acre site, right around the corner.

THE Government was roundly criticised by local politicians yesterday for its failure to buy Lissadell House, the Sligo stately home where Countess Markievicz and her sister, poet Eva Gore Booth, spent their formative years.
