Mexico’s health secretary said today most businesses will reopen nationwide on Wednesday, citing an ebb in the swine flu outbreak.

Mexican health authorities this morning said they have confirmed 300 swine flu cases due to the virus among a total of 679 people tested so far.

Mexico was on the brink of a virtual country-wide shutdown today as it tried to deal with the swine flu epidemic.

Mexico is temporarily suspending all non-essential activity of the federal government as the number of confirmed swine flu cases jumped.
