A man who sued McDonald’s for compensation for his fractured arm — suffered on a night when he consumed six pints of cider and was involved in a separate incident in which he got a bloody nose — lost his case yesterday.

The condition of the man who had six pints of beer and slipped on a floor in McDonald’s was described by his lawyer as “a moderate level of inebriation in the great tradition of celebration of St Stephen’s night in this country”.

McDonald’s claimed a premises where a man is suing for a slip on a wet floor was inspected every 15 minutes and it was put to the plaintiff the six pints he had earlier in the night might have had something to do with the fall.

A young man suing McDonald’s for an injury in a fall was cross-examined about banter on his Facebook page to the effect that he would be ‘minted’ after the case.
