Protesters who hold UN soldiers from Nepal responsible for a deadly outbreak of cholera which has killed nearly 1,000 people have barricaded Haiti’s second-largest city, burned cars and stoned a peacekeeping base.

HURRICANE Tomas flooded the earthquake- shattered remains of a Haitian town yesterday, forcing families who had already lost their homes in one disaster to flee another.

Gunmen stormed luxury hotels, a popular restaurant, hospitals and a crowded station in co-ordinated attacks across India’s financial capital today, killing at least 78 people and taking Westerners hostage.

At least 78 people were killed and 200 injured today when gunmen opened fire on a crowded Mumbai railway station, luxury hotels and a restaurant popular with tourists.
