THREE stadium records in quick succession — all from Leevale sprinters — provided fans with 25 minutes of sheer magic at the AAI Indoor championships in Nenagh yesterday when Jer O’Donoghue, Ailis McSweeney and hurdler Derval O’Rourke braved the bitter cold to return scintillating performances.

FREDA DAVOREN, who re-launched her career by finishing third in the road mile at Balmoral a week ago, got back on track on Saturday by outsprinting Kelly McNiece to win the 800m at the AAI International Games in Navan.

PAUL McKEE took advantage of ideal conditions for sprinting to set an Irish record in the 400m at the National Championships in Santry.

SONIA O'SULLIVAN will compete in the 800m on at the national track and field championships at Morton Stadium, Santry, tomorrow, but there will be no head-to-head with Ireland's current middle distance sensation, Geraldine Hendricken.
