Two siblings committed a civil fraud in selling their late father’s Dublin home, on foot of a death certificate for a woman with the same name as their stepmother, the Court of Appeal has ruled. The stepmother was alive at the time.

Judgment has been reserved in an action brought by a woman over the sale of a property by her stepchildren after they allegedly obtained a death certificate in her name.

The stepchildren of a woman, who left her allegedly violent husband many years ago have denied they acted fraudulently in obtaining a death certificate for her.
