For the tenth year in a row, the Weston family retain their title as the richest family in Ireland.

The wealth of Denis O’Brien has fallen by $1.1bn (€1bn), but the telecoms businessman still remains one of the country’s richest people, according to the annual Forbes list of the world’s mega rich.

The rich just got richer, according to the latest Sunday Times Rich List, which indicates that the total wealth of the country’s richest 250 people increased by just under €3bn last year.

Despite almost four years of recession, Ireland’s richest are getting even richer.
