A Loreto nun working as a school principal in war-torn South Sudan is to be the recipient of the tenth international humanitarian award in honour of the Killarney priest, Monsignor Hugh O’Flaherty.

The keynote speaker at this year’s commemoration of Second World War hero Monsignor Hugh O’Flaherty will be Tomi Reichental, a survivor of the Holocaust.

The recipient of the 2014 Hugh O’Flaherty International Humanitarian award is to be the surgeon, Dr John Beavis, the founder of an organisation dedicated to the relief of suffering and poverty in conflict zones.

Detectives have confirmed they are not looking for anyone else in connection with a fatal shooting at a house in Surrey.
