Hopes of a breakthrough in the teachers’ dispute with the Government over junior cycle reform look slim, despite fresh talks planned next week.

Up to 30,000 secondary school teachers are on strike again today in a row over Junior Cycle reform.

Teacher unions will keep 340,000 students at home from second-level schools next month without balloting their members on junior cycle reform plans that are significantly different to the ones they agreed to strike against.
