Unlucky for some - a judge has refused an application by a publican to hold a bingo fundraiser, in a case which could spell the end of bingo callers in bars.

Three Dublin men “beat the lard out of a taxi driver” and yesterday the sentencing judge said they could not avoid a conviction even though they were never in trouble before.
