The economy performed strongly in the months after the Brexit vote, official figures have revealed.

Irish Water has refused to provide figures on how many people have cancelled their direct debits with the firm since the Eurostat figures were revealed in July.

Jennifer Banim, assistant director general with responsibility for economic statistics at the CSO, said the agency would seek to understand and review the decision to keep Irish Water on the Government’s balance sheet.
