The family of a paranoid schizophrenic who killed both his parents has said they want to ensure that other families take action before mental illness turns to tragedy.

A paranoid schizophrenic who killed his parents with an axe has been found not guilty of murder by reason of insanity.

ROBERT HOWARD was a loner. He’d been in trouble since his early teens. He was born in 1944, one of eight children reared in this tiny, country cottage at The Swan in Co Laois.
