Johnny King experienced mixed fortunes on Amateurs Day in Cork, completing a his first double on Winter Magic and Operating and being suspended for five days for using his whip with excessive frequency on his first winner.

Noel Meade and Davy Condon (deputising for the injured Paul Carberry) struck on the double with Top Man Michael and Johannisberger in the early action in Roscommon last night.

Declan Queally, younger brother of top flat jockey Tom, recorded the second racecourse double of his career (had a double at Limerick on January 25th) at Cork yesterday.
