Six gang members were jailed for life today for the “gratuitous torture” and brutal “execution” of schoolgirl Mary-Ann Leneghan.

FOUR of the gang found guilty of the rape and murder of Mary-Ann Leneghan had been under probation supervision.

ONE of six men accused of murdering teenager Mary-Ann Leneghan and attempting to murder another girl has admitted kidnapping the pair.

A teenager was told her final memory before death would be the sight of her friend being “butchered” in front her, a court heard today.

Mary-Ann has family in Mount Jubilee, Bangor Erris. Her father Bertie emigrated to England in 1972.
