The immigrant family in Cork facing in the midst of a deportation row have been told to present themselves again to immigration officials in just over a week.

A fifth-year pupil at a Cork school who has received a last-minute reprieve from deportation has spoken of his dream of playing cricket for Ireland.

The principle of a school where three Saudi-born children are to be deported has blasted the decision to remove them from the country as “immoral”.

"The removal of Hamza and his family from the state would put an end to their meaningful access to higher education."
