REVENUES at biotechnology firm Genzyme, which employs almost 400 people in Co Waterford, rose 21% in the fourth quarter of last year to $1.04 billion (€0.7bn), up from $854m (€577m) in the same period a year earlier.

BIOTECHNOLOGY company Genzyme, which employs more than 380 people at its Waterford facility, has reported an 18% increase in revenues in the three months to June 30.

A MAJOR Waterford employer, which has begun construction of a new €61 million manufacturing facility in the city, has received a boost that could translate into more jobs.

WATERFORD-based biotechnology company Genzyme is to provide 120 jobs by the end of next year.
