Forty-three British women and girls are believed to have travelled to Syria from Britain in the past 12 months, police have revealed.

Britain will introduce a package of new laws next week to stop airlines carrying passengers who may be travelling to join Islamic State militants in Syria and Iraq, the Sunday Times reported.

Final preparations are continuing today ahead of the Live 8 concert in London which is expected to draw more than 200,000 people to Hyde Park tomorrow.
