GEORGE WASHINGTON overcame a stumble at the start to record a smooth victory in the Laing O’Rourke National Stakes at the Curragh yesterday.

THE David Wachman trained Heatseeker, a son of Giant's Causeway, made it two from two with a decent effort in the Irish Stallion aFarms' EBF Race at Tipperary last night.
