MAXINE CARR yesterday said she had no idea that Ian Huntley had killed Soham schoolgirls Holly Wells and Jessica Chapman when she lied to police to protect her former boyfriend.

The mother of child killer Ian Huntley said today her son had “flipped” and killed Holly Wells and Jessica Chapman in a jealous rage, after a furious telephone row with Maxine Carr.
