A former caretaker convicted of murdering six people and attacking 19 others will meet his fate in the coming weeks as jurors consider whether to put him to death for dozens of random night-time shootings that terrorised the desert city of Phoenix, Arizona, over a 14-month period in 2005 and 2006.

One of two men arrested in a string of random late-night serial shootings that terrorised residents in the western US city of Phoenix has denied any wrongdoing, according to a newspaper interview.

Polish Prime Minister Marek Belka said the country’s public debt will not exceed 55% of gross domestic product this year or in 2005, while Economy Minister Jerzy Hausner forecast it would remain at 2003 levels.
