Irish lightweight David Oliver Joyce edged a step closer to qualifying for the Rio Olympics on Saturday and, along with Katie Taylor, scooped one of the top accolades at the Irish Amateur Boxing Association’s Awards Night in Dublin.

The first African-born player to captain Ireland, Cameroon native Noe Baba, will lead out the Under-17s tonight against Azerbaijan in his new home of Castlebar (6pm).
