GUERRILLAS and residents in Fallujah have "days, not weeks" to turn in heavy weapons, the top US Marine commander in Iraq said yesterday, warning an American push to take the city could be costly for both sides.

Two more American soldiers were killed and three were wounded in two incidents in northern Iraq, the US military said.

British forces were patrolling at petrol stations in the southern Iraqi city of Basra today after a series of clashes with residents angry about increased fuel prices and power cuts.
