The death toll in a suicide bombing in the eastern Pakistani city of Lahore has risen to 22.

A suicide bomber killed at least 69 people, mostly women and children, at a public park in the Pakistani city of Lahore yesterday, striking at the heart of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s political base of Punjab.

A bomb which exploded near a Pakistani paramilitary checkpoint has killed at least 45 people near the country’s eastern border with India, in an attack suspected to be the work of a suicide bomber.
